–System Features to Consider when Purchasing a Heat Pump
Hitachi’s Heat Pump Air Conditioning units are packed full of features that make your home comfortable. All our units have inverter technology which enables the heat pump to reduce its power input as the room temperature nears set point, this means they are very efficient at keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Both E and S series Hitachi Heat Pumps come equipped with unique features. Below are some of key features which will make your home comfortable, healthy and efficient.
Air Purifying Filter
The Nano Titanium Wasabi Air Purifying Filter is packed with a hybrid coat of Nano Titanium and Wasabi Solution which provides a powerful antibacterial, anti-mould, anti-allergen and deoderising effect, reducing bacteria and allergen levels.
The filter is incredibly small and highly dense, wasabi-modified Nano Titanium particles prevent microbes from passing through and deactivate them effectively. This feature is great at keeping your home air clean reducing the aggravation of respiratory conditions.
Eco Mode Functions
Eco mode is programmed to run your system at a slightly reduced rate, ECO Mode helps keep your power consumption to a minimum enabling you to achieve significant energy savings.
Sleep Mode
Sleep Mode is a function that adapts fan speed and temperature to provide comfort conditioning while you’re sleeping. Sleep Mode also helps prevent drafts that might disrupt a good night’s sleep.
Powerful Mode
Powerful mode will run your system at maximum cooling or heating as well as maximum fan speed for 20 minutes projecting airflow further and faster to cool or heat a room rapidly.
Motion Detect Mode
The S Series comes equipped with a motion sensor. Motion detect mode senses human movement when someone is in the room. During this time the unit will remain at the set temperature. Once the unit does not detect any movement for 20 minutes the set temperature shifts up or down (depending if it is in heating or cooling mode) reducing power consumption.
Frost Wash
Frost Wash is a feature in our S Series models. Frost Wash Technology is a revolutionary new self-cleaning technology giving you cleaner, fresher air all year round. Frost Wash achieves a 91% reduction of bacteria and 87% reduction of mould in your unit.
The system cools the heat exchanger down to -15C forming a thin layer of frost from the moisture within the air. While the frost is being formed, it lifts dust particles, mould and bacteria off the heat exchanger and traps it. Once an adequate layer of frost has been formed, the system then melts the ice, flushing away the trapped dust particles, mould and bacteria hygienically through the drain pan. The unit then thoroughly dries the surfaces inside the unit before resuming normal operation.
